Blondies with chips

kkI am going to be posting healthier recipes from now on! I’m back on weight watchers so my recipes will be including Weight Watcher points with them. Anyone that knows me can tell you that my biggest weakness is sweets, so I thought for my first “healthier post” I would try this recipe from Taste of Home. With the nutritional information included in this recipe, they come out to 3 points a serving.

Blondies with chips

  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar (I used light brown)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

In a small bowl, combine the first five ingredients. In another bowl, whisk the egg, oil, honey, and vanilla; stir into dry ingredients until blended. Stir in chocolate chips (batter will be thick). Spread into an 8 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into 12 bars.

The Verdict: The blondies had really good flavor, the portion was just really small!
