Bacon Beef and Cheddar Dog Treats

6 Mar

We have two very spoiled dogs at home, that receive treats quite often. I got to thinking about it, and it’s been a couple of years since I made homemade dog treats. I don’t know why I waited so long. They are easy to make, and the dogs just love them!

Bacon Beef and Cheddar Dog Treats

Adapted From: Delish

1 1/3 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/3 cup low sodium beef broth

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons melted bacon grease

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Flour work surface and knead dough a few times. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, depending on size. You want them firm but still a little chewy when you take them out of the oven. Cool and stir in an airtight container.

Note: You want to use homemade beef broth or a store bought variety that does not include onion to be safe. According to Delish, onion can be toxic to dogs.
